into the relationship between behavioral distractions such as using a cell phone while

driving actually increases the risk of accidents as much as operating a vehicle while

legally impaired by alcohol (Hennessy & Wiesenthal 2005). Moreover, in the last few

years, cellphone technology started including text messaging, which has only added

further to the problem of driver inattention by virtue of the irresponsible practice of

texting while driving
