According to the ANA, many health care providers prefer Registered Nurses with a Bachelors degree as the bare minimum. They feel that this minimal level of training provides better critical thinking skills and leadership. The bachelors degree will provide the nurse with a background in health promotion, disease prevention, patient education, and management (ANA, 2009). It is believed that the Bachelors degree provides a better theoretical foundation that will allow the nurse to grow and adapt throughout their career. A solid theoretical background will allow the nurse to adjust to changes in the profession, rather than simply following orders and the daily routine. The nurse with the Bachelors degree will be an asset to the physician, as they will be able to assist in the analysis of the disease and provide insight into the course that should be taken
